With the American dollar dropping and the price of fuel going through the roof once again it is no surprise that people aren't shopping. I admittedly went out to do a bit of holiday shopping but it wasn't crowded. The experience was actually pleasant and I didn't want to get visceral with any other patrons.
However the experience was short lived and I made off with minimal amounts of present propaganda. I've taken to making my own ornaments, stockings and cooking a lot more. I do it to save money which really is in vain since I just end up spending what I can on Christmas gifts for family. Which mostly means sending Christmas cards in my perfect penmanship and making long distance phone calls to foreign countries; it's not like our money isn't going overseas anyways.
