Top Ten!

I've seen countless articles, columns and webpages on the top picks for sci-fi, fantasy and over all geek pin-ups. After a while it had me thinking, "who would I choose for my top ten beefcakes of the geek world?"

Thinking about it a while I've finally come up with a list. Please feel free to bash and add to this list of Mistress Chewtoy's Top Ten Fan Girl Beefcakes!

This is in no specific order, so here we go!

Temuera Morrison. Known as Jango Fett and Commander Cody, this Māori had to make my list.

Bruce Campbell. Yes, he has that charisma that gets him laughed at, slapped or kissed. The list of credits goes on and on.

Grant Morrison. Yes, I swoon over this Scottish writer known for his works The Invisibles, The Filth and Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth .

Vinnie Jones. "I'm Juggernaut bitch!" From Juggernaut to Bullet Tooth Tony he's intense and ruggedly handsome in his parts.

Robert Downey Jr. He pulled off Iron Man in ways I could of never imagined and portrayed James Barris of Phillip K. Dicks' A Scanner Darkly with such style and talent.

Donnie Yen. Known as Snowman of Blade II and Jin Ke in Highlander: Endgame.

Daz Crawford. Another of the Blood Pack from Blade II and currently filming The Vanquisher playing the part of Clive Maddocks.

Luke Goss. He's intense and kicks the ass of the hero before dying gracefully. His credits include; Hellboy: The Golden Army, Blade II, Tekken, A night with the King

Gavin Rossdale. This musician has been delving his fingers into the film industry for a few years now. He never really caught my eye until I saw him playing Balthazar in Constantine. Deliciously evil and filthy in the flick, he actually caught my eye.

Ben Foster. In Alpha Dog he played a Jewish Neo-Nazi and fanboys/girls know him for his roles in X-Men: The Last Stand, Six Feet Under and The Dead Zone.

America!

Any one who has hung around my house for extended amount of time has heard the words "Jing-a-Ling". Anyone who has been around after school knows my kids tune in to reruns of The Bernie Mac show. Corbin likes to imitate him with the prolific, "America! . . .", before going on with his rant.

I don't want to tell him that Bernie Mac passed away this morning due to natural cause in a Chicago Hospital. It saddens me greatly that the entertainment world has to deal with such a loss.

I am not one to usually feel a loss at the death of people I don't know; especially celebrities. Not since the recent death Aleksandr Isayevich Solzhenitsyn; author of the The Gulag Archipelago, have I felt grief over the loss of talent.

I was floored by the news just as I was by the death of Heath Ledger. Like Ledger Mac's finally works were in post production; to the best of my knowledge, and he won't see the final fruits of his labor. It's a tragic loss.

A Little More Fantasy

I turned on PLEX yesterday, pulled out my paint box and got to work. As the original Harry Potter sought out the ways of wizardry to destroy the monsters plaguing his home and family I sought out to conquer the rest of this canvas. I managed to get the details done in less than three hours. I was rather critical about about getting the details down right. I have the background already laid out on the third. I've not touched the canvas today though.

In other news. Part of the original cast has decided to give Troll a second go in the box office. veteran dwarf actor Phil Fondacaro; Willow (Vohnkar!), Sabrina The Teenage Witch and Starwars: The Return of the Jedi, has signed on with 80's television regular Noah Hathaway; CHiP's, Battlestar Galactica and Mork & Mindy.

Noah will be playing the part of Turok the fairy king/prince cursed to spend his existence as a troll. Mr. Fondacaro will be playing Malcolm once again. As far as I can tell this movie is just another make over that Hollywood seems hellbent on making. Even though it's being filmed in Italy, I am sure it's for monetary and not an Italian brewed idea.

I do have some hopes for this possible beer and pretzels movie. I assume the writers will put more into establishing a background story and the effects will be special this time. With the advances in technology I'm sure anything produced on a home PC would be of better quality than the original.

I have no hate for the original. It was always one of my favorite movies to watch as a kid. I don't think Julia Louis-Dreyfus will be joining them on this second go 'round. Unfortunately neither will the American icon Sonny Bono; whom of which met an unorthodox end in the original. If he were still alive I believe he would be a part of this remake and I am positive he would of had a cameo in the recently released musical Hairspray.
