America!

Any one who has hung around my house for extended amount of time has heard the words "Jing-a-Ling". Anyone who has been around after school knows my kids tune in to reruns of The Bernie Mac show. Corbin likes to imitate him with the prolific, "America! . . .", before going on with his rant.

I don't want to tell him that Bernie Mac passed away this morning due to natural cause in a Chicago Hospital. It saddens me greatly that the entertainment world has to deal with such a loss.

I am not one to usually feel a loss at the death of people I don't know; especially celebrities. Not since the recent death Aleksandr Isayevich Solzhenitsyn; author of the The Gulag Archipelago, have I felt grief over the loss of talent.

I was floored by the news just as I was by the death of Heath Ledger. Like Ledger Mac's finally works were in post production; to the best of my knowledge, and he won't see the final fruits of his labor. It's a tragic loss.
